However, now that revision time is umong us again, this seems much more fun.

This entry is a further development on my opinion of the EDL (English Defence League) and the UAF (Unite against Fascism). This week i've been doing a bit of research into both of the "political movements" which respectfully oppose different things. For those who don't know, the EDL are a political movement who protest against militant islam, islamication of England and Shariah Law. The UAF are a group set up to combat far right groups such as the National Front (NF), British National Party (BNP) and the supposed "far right" EDL.

Anyway, my blog entry is going to be sympathetic to the EDL. From what I can see, from documentaries and publications, they are just a nationalistic movement that oppose the Islamic political movement (yes it's not a religion, its a political movement) and hate the idea that we are losing British values. Fair enough. However any nationalistic or race related politics is automatically shunned as extreme right. Undoubtebly there are some loonies in the group, most of this is coincidently posted on left wing propaganda machines such as the Guardian. But set aside from the racist hooligans that belittle the EDL, it is generally made up of all religions, cultures, political backgrounds and social backgrounds. The thing that gets me most with people who claim that the EDL are "extreme right wing racists" is the fact that everyone in the UK, Europe, USA hates terrorism. Terrorism has its heart at the teachings of Allah and Shariah Law. So whats "racist" about opposing extreme islamic behaviour? Thats all the EDL are. They just oppose militant islam, not all muslims, just extreme characters. The protection of England has been in our blood for thousands of years, what's unnatural about protecting it?

This leads me onto one of my pet-hates, the UAF. In plain and simple language, there a bunch of left wing hippy's who show more traditional fascistic tactics than the EDL. By this I mean that over the (mostly) peaceful protests by the EDL the UAF actually end up causing more trouble and have had more arrests for violent conduct. The thing that I will never ever (ever) understand is how they can get away with blatant racism in their chants of "Nazi Scum, off our streets". To link a street political movement that has in no way shape or form come anywhere near the Nazi tactics is racist. I mean, where's the respect to all the British, American, Russian and even German people who had to fight/live under the Nazi rule. It's a very extreme word and when used in the wrong context is most certainly racist. It also seems as if the UAF oppose freedom of speech, I mean, they turn out opposing marches and demonstrations. Surely they don't want us to speak our mind and show our concerns to the growth of Islam?

That to me is fascist.

Naive, or in denial?

Hello again, i'm assuming blogging has gone a bit out of fashion during the half term so I havn't really bothered to update again. I think its more of the fact I have too much to say that I just couldnt put it all into blogs. Plus, I have better things to do with my time. This is a blog instead of doing easter work...

As always I wont bore you with my Easter and I will refer to it as I will do in the next week as 'abusing my 18thness' as it saves going through day by day of what I did. Anyway ive decided to pretty much keep this blog now to a political/ranting blog as its always hard to describe a social life or whatever. On this note, its the political high season isnt it?! People who normally couldn't care less about politics are now making there decision on which of the, quote Lord Pearson, "failed old parties" to send their vote too. But this election is one that is surprisingly close, after the apparent success of Clegg the Liberal Democrats in the television debate they are now above Labour in the polls? Hmm, I smell a hung parliament. But lets face it, polls are normally rubbish anyway. So they ask 1,000 people who they would vote for. Its only a small and very rough guess at who will win the election. I mean, will the Lib Dems beat Labour? Plain and simply, no. What is quite interesting is how people are so easily swayed by an hour and a half or debating, to actually cast themselves as a Lib Dem just because they basically say they will go in the middle of Labour/Conservatives.

But as Nigel Farage said in Question Time after the debate, will anyone really remember anything? I know I can't. Could you honestly say that you can tell the differences between the parties? Of course not, thats because there all the same. The only thing they have different views on is where the cuts should be made and the issue of the unelected House of Lords. The Lib/Lab/Con also seem very indecisive on big issues within Britain today such as immigration and education. With regards to immigration all the parties talked about 'non-EU' immigration being controlled. Fair enough. But thats not the problem at all, the real problem is EU immigration where we have no control, and will never get this control until we leave. As for education, no party is really giving any solutions to the failing education system. The Tories are heading the right way, with ideas that teachers should have more power and not be undermined by a committee who can overturn decisions such as expulsion. But what Cameron does not address is the lack of grammar schools, it is well known that children get a much better education and at the moment all three parties will not build more of these schools and are therefore denying us the right to a good education.

One thing I have noticed from people I have been talking too about politics, is that people do seem to generally have a better understanding of politics and parties, which is good. The electoral seem to be taking a much better interest in politics, however many of these people are still blinded when looking at smaller parties (Greens, UKIP, BNP). Are people just oblivious to these parties or just naive? People in society today need to open their political scanner and understand that these parties are growing at a stupedous rate and they should all be in peoples minds about voting rather that the "big three". I know many people will not vote a smaller party as they know they have "no chance" of winning, but every vote really does count, expecially in a hung parliament. My view is that you should vote for what you believe in, regardless of what people say or how large the party is. Take for example UKIP, they started in 1992 and were obviously then unknown. But look at them in 18 years, they are fielding 500 candidates in the General Election and have a real chance of winning a seat (fingers crossed Buckinghamshire).

My last point for today is the naivity and preassumptions that people make of right wing politics. As a women said on Question Time "If I vote Green... Or God forbid UKIP". Whats up with the "God forbid", I dont understand why UKIP should have any bad stigma to their name? I hate this assumption that UKIP as they are right wing they are automatically racists. Take for example Conservatives under Thatcher, would you say they were racist? Of course not. However they were in the same area as UKIP are today. UKIP are the real conservatives, and if control of immigration and nationalism becomes 'radical' then I pity this country.

x

Are you Green?

This is a very short update, it could my shortest yet. I found this whilst browsing the internet, it could help you personally as to who to vote in the up and coming election. Its actually pretty decent, it gives you an idea as to which views you have link with what party. Heres the link

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/election-2010/7541285/Vote-Match-General-Election-2010.html

This should be publicised in more colleges/universitys where people are more naive to politics.

Just for the record, I am 70% linked with UKIP, 64% linked with BNP and 54% linked with Torys.

x

A Darling Budget?

As you may have been expecting, I obviously have felt the need to update with regards to budget set out by Alistair Darling. To be completely honest, I havnt actually read too much into it, for the economic side of politics (despite being important) is just not as interesting as many other topics. Anyway, I know enough to write with regards to a few problems the new budget gives to the people of Britain.

One of these proposals (which might concern us, the youth) is the potential "Cider Duty Hike" which Darling is proposing. His idea is that the duty should raise a further 2% to an overall 5%. This means to us that we will have to pay roughly an extra 20p for a pint of cider, making it around £3 a pint. What I dont understand is how this will benefit the people of Britain, I mean, what is his overall plan of the scheme? To cut binge drinkers? To shut down the beloved British pubs? No, its to 'help the economy' although in reality this will only deter drinkers from pubs. Like I had learnt in geography many times, this will have a snowball effect on the economy. By this I mean...

Higher price of cider ---> Less people going to pubs ---> Pubs being forced to close down (as if there isnt enough closing already) ---> Increase in taxpayers money funding bankrupt pub owners ---> Overall fail. It seems as if Darling is not only trying to destroy the economy, but destroy Britain and its culture all together. In fact this budget can only be seen as a death sentence for British culture.

Ha, just as I was about to end this I have seen that a UKIP poster I printed off is still here in the English Workroom and it has 'racially' written under it. Hmm I wonder what that means? Actually, I have something else to mention now. Last week I asked about putting up political posters around the college to bring awareness about the need for change, ie UKIP. Apparently however you are not allowed to post anything 'political or religious' as it may cause offence, and when asked what party I would be campaigning for I got greeted with a 'well you definitly cant, that would offend a lot of people'. Who exactly would it offend? I suppose this was just a naive view of right wing politics that labels anything anti immigration as 'racist'. But surely everyone in the college is a legal citizen and allowed to be in this country, so they wouldnt be effected? Getting to the point, I therefore decided to email the 'Equality and Diversity Co-ordinator' with regards to the subject and to my surprise, the response was good and helpful. She understood the fact that stopping people voicing an opinion would be taking away the freedom of speech. For some reason this subject has never come up before which seems confusing, I mean, I would like to think that 5 years ago people campaigned in the college for political parties. As well as a positive reply, the email has been forwarded to the head of Politics and the assistant principle. Fingers crossed they reply and change the college rules with regards to posters.

x

x

Skint Eastwood

Hello again anyone who still reads this blog, I dont know if anyone reads it anymore so I might be back to square one. Oh well.

As you may/may not know I went and saw Gorillaz live in Portsmouth on Sunday, and it was brilliant! Seeing one of my favorite bands for the first time (in such a small intimate venue) was something I had waited for lets say... 5 years? Not only was it Damon Albarn who showed up, but also half of The Clash were there... and I must say they are fantastic musicians. Expecially Paul Simonon (bass) who played just a metre away from me, what an awesome gent he is. To be fair, Gorillaz played a very long set and included all the hits (Feel Good Inc, Clint Eastwood, Stylo, Dirty Harry) so can't complain. It is a shame though that they did not have any additional artists with them like Bobby Womack or Mos Def, but I guess playing such a small venue people arn't going to go there to play one song? Nonetheless it was an ace gig and since then they have announced more tour dates, with a full UK tour in September, so hopefully I will get to catch them again.

Onto politics, as usual, there was just one piece of sloppy journalism I thought I would point out for you to go and read.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politics/ukip/7482715/Roll-up-roll-up-for-the-UKIP-carnival.html

Theres one thing in insulting a political party, but to insult the people who vote for them is just petty. As you will read there is not argument here, and it is just personal attacks on members within the party. However the irony from the report was actually quite good. The BBC reported that 'out of the numerous arrests, most of these came from UAF with many being arrested for "pre-planned violence". Surely the UAF are supposed to be the ones against fascistic tactics such as violence yet they seem to be the ones causing the most trouble? If I was to protest against the EDL I would at least be peaceful and not use underhand tactics like the UAF, especially as it leaves them looking foolish.

Prior to the report, I had actually heard of both groups and ironically I was interested in joining the UAF after watching the Question Time with Nick Griffin. Yet since then, my idea in politics has clearly shifted and I oppose the UAF in many aspects. Obviously they have some right to protest, in reality the BNP are very controversial in their ideas, but to be fair the amount of grief and abuse from the BBC they get is pretty ridiculous in the end. Yes yes I know they are 'racist' and their leader was an 'ex' holocaust denier (which is just the lowest of the low) but they only dig up bad things on the BNP such as some of their members. You could do this for every party, every party has its bad people within it, I mean im sure some of the Labour or Conservatives have ex cons, paedofiles, thugs ect. Anyway im going off topic, but you get the point. Anyway I had also briefly heard of the EDL in the sence that they were linked to BNP and I had seen some posts of it on the UKIP forum. Like any party that actually stands up for British people they were of course linked to the far right of politics, despite not being a political party. I cant say I agree with their protests against 'militant islam'. Actually I cant really have any opinion as I dont know exactly what there about but from the name you can guess that their a nationalistic, anti islamic protest group.

To see the contrast of opinion on the Bolton protest (its quite amusing how the propaganda of both sides is shown)

http://www.uaf.org.uk/

http://www.englishdefenceleague.org/

In other political news, on the 19th March Lord Pearson launched the UKIP campaign which starts the busy few months coming up before the election. Unfortunately I was unable to attend, but as far as im aware it went down well, even within the media considering the BBC normally freezes out UKIP. If your interested the BBC does have a link to a short clip from the speech by UKIP's leader, but at 23:49 I can not be bothered to find it. Infact I cant be bothered to carry on writing any more.

x

Short little update

Hello, just a quick update of something funny someone showed me on youtube.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QAvkFS_cgk

I think that will work, but as im at college I cant actually go on the actual video so its a hopeful link? Its afternoon for me if your wondering why I started with that. This might be a short of a long update, I really dont know. I have an idea of what I want to say, but when its not ranting its not normally as long, oh well.

This week saw the release of the Gorillaz album (obviously good news) and it is a fantastic album, one that is definitly worth a listen. Anyway, from this they released tickets to 5 intimate shows in the UK which I got tickets for! It did however cost me (my mother) £25 to join the "G Club" so you could actually get hold of buying tickets (which were £15). It is a little bit of a con in some ways, to make you join a club so you can get tickets. But who cares? Ive wanted to see Gorillaz for ages! They might actually be the first band I ever really liked, I think Blur came after that. The only thing that is possibly worrying is that it is 'rehearsal' shows for the festival in America they will be playing soon. What is meant by this? A statement claims that:

A further message from Gorillaz' management about the dates. They are live rehearsals - the core band will be going through the set for coachella - basic and raw - no frills - allowing the band to tighten up on front of an audience. However, they assure us the band are sounding

fantastic!

I hope that means its all good. Im assuming though by the "basic and raw" factor that it will just be the core band and no supporting artists (like De la soul) as on almost every track Gorillaz have someone featuring. Should be brilliant, in such a small venue too! Maybe when they play again in the UK (most likely in a bigger venue) i'l go to that and have a different experience? I dont know.

In other ?interesting? news I went to visit the University of Hertfordshire yesterday with meine mutter. I only went really to have a look at another possible university, just so I wouldnt feel like shit if I only went to visit two uni's. However, I was amazed by the university. It really is somewhere I could imagine being and living and learning, it must be the first Uni ive been to that I actually felt this way. I was pleased with how much investment went into student life (thats got to be a main factor for going). There was a area (costing £32million) dedicated to bars, a venue, a theatre and cafe's. It really was impressive, and not only that but people there were friendly and helpful. The lecturer for History who I met seemed very enthusiastic, which has to be important in History or any subject. The lecturer clearly had a large passion for History which can only be benificial. The historians who 'specialised' were also in very interesting topics like Film & Propaganda and Public History. I cant help but feel that I wouldnt be able to choose what things to learn in the years, there is too much choice. I dont know whether this is good yet, but they also make it compulsory to study 1 unit in another humanities subject. This could be good, but it could be bad. I have a choice of basically, English, Journalism, Philosophy (no) or some form of film making. I think I will do Journalism, after all it most likely would have been my second choice. Just a shame they dont do politics. But then again History is basically politics.

x

I hate ignorance

Followers (official of unofficial) you are in for a treat today, I have one amazing rant ahead for you all to read. It is brilliant, I was planning it last night whilst still in bed. You will not be dissapointed.

I may have actually lost my potential rantyness in the past few minutes because I was interruped by the constant 'pop' of people talking to me on Facebook. Nevertheless, I am still focused on the point that needs to be portrayed here. I have to warn you, this entire entry as far as I know is going to be based on politics. Last night at a mates party (which by the way was funny funny) I somehow managed to get into a conversation with two northern girls about politics. This was sparked off by a mate who proclaimed to them that I was a UKIP supporter. My reasoning for this I assume is that it was another attempt to try and attract people to 'put down' UKIP as so far previous attempts was utterly useless.

Anyway, this then led too me having the dirtiest look ever from a girl. It was the same look you would get if someone found out you were a paedophile (I always get that spelling wrong) or a rapist or something on those lines. It was the whole looked at me up and down about three times and then basically just had the look of clear disgust on her face. She then came out with the very simplistic comment of "Why do you like UKIP". To which I naturally replied proclaiming their views on the EU, but never really got further than this due to the interrogation they gave me on my political views. These two girls said that up north is all very Labour (which is true) and went on to say that they hated 'right wing' such as conservatives, UKIP and of course BNP. Infact the two girls managed to, like every socialist, link the BNP and UKIP together. What a surprise! Apparently UKIP are just BNP in "a shirt and tie" and you should not vote for them because they are a racist party. Again, like every argument I put across, I had to describe how UKIP are completely different to BNP with regards to the issue of race and immigration. The perfect thing was then going on to say that not all of BNP's views are bad which again prompted a horrified look from the girls. By this I meant that their eurosceptic view is good, their political correctness views are good and views on crime and punishment are reasonable. In fact I would vote BNP if it wasnt for their very harsh and ultimately racist and homophobic views. Ok, that is quite a major factor, but what I mean is not all of their views are awful.

I was then posed the question of "what kind of area do you live in?". How this relates to my political views I dont know. But her idea was that "if I dont live in a poor part of the city, then I have no idea how EU money is spent". Ha! That was just the ultimate failure on behalf of any person who claims to have an understanding of politics. Apparently if you dont live in a poor area you have no understanding... hmm. So let me get this straight, the party that were voted 2nd in European Elections are all living in the slums of the city? Of course not. That point just makes absolutely no sence and again was just another weak attempt at putting down right wing ideology. In fact they didnt like it when I commented saying that voting Labour or Lib Dem was a waste of a vote and that, expecially voting Lib Dem, was just a "sit on the fence" vote. I think I also annoyed them when I posed the question of "What are you policies then? Whats the difference of voting Labour to Lib Dem?". One response from the girls "I dont want Labour or Conservatives to get into power, so im going half way and voting Lib Dem. But why?!?! This is one of the things I hate about Britain, ignorance. Oh yeh, lets use my vote to vote for a party just because I 'hate' Labour. Why not put your vote to use and vote a real party, who will really make a difference rather than throw away your vote. In all honesty, I have more respect for a person who would vote Green Party or any left wing party than someone who votes a party despite having no idea what their views are.

No doubt you will hear more of this rant throughout college, but I am finding it hard to write down a transcript and put my points across, its very difficult. I will leave you with this thought though.

Is it right that the EU has made a governing decision that the UK does not get priority tickets to London 2012 Olympics, but instead it will go to a random ballot?

Is that fair that UK taxpayers money, which of course has gone to fuelling the project, mean that the UK does not get priority tickets?

x

15mins of bronze writing

Good morning, I thought it would be time for another update as I havn't posted for a few days. Im not even sure if I have that much to say so this could be a an average post compared to the beast that was the last entry.

I would firstly like to apologise to everyone I talk too recently, for some reason every conversation I get into now somehow comes back to politics. I dont know why this is, and as much as I like talking about it, doing it everyday is getting rather boorish. I think the only interesting bit of news regarding me and politics is that my membership actually came through from UKIP. It was good to read a newsletter which gives a bit more of an insite into the world of UKIP and gave me a better understanding of the party structure and whats going on in the EP. However in the news, after the week has been all about Nigel Farages 'insulting' comments, the news is that UKIP has expelled one of our MEP's from the party. Naturally from this there has been a lot of controversy within the forums as a lot of the reasons seem to be kept a bit hush hush. The fact that she was with UKIP for 16 years and the principle that we are now an MEP down has annoyed many UKIP supporters. However, I take the stance that it was a fair decision. In the end i'd rather have one less MEP but have a united group without opposing views within the party. Sinclaire must have been very oppositional within the party and must have taken on different views to the EFD, and therefore she deserves what she gets, regardless of service or the status of MEP.

Anyway I dont know all too much about the subject so I wouldnt like to comment further. In other more light hearted news I have downloaded the new Gorillaz album last night which has gone down a treat. Its really good! Like, JIMP good. (I wonder if anyone can solve what JIMP is?) But yeh, now I have the new album I must see them live, they are the only band I have liked for a very long time, but getting tickets to see the legendary band is very very difficult as demand is so high.

Thats it I think, I did say there wasn't going to be much.

x

ps. I am going to go buy my wembley ticket today, I hope there are not big queues.

45 minutes of pure golden rant

Hello again, it hasn't been long since I last posted but I feel the need to post again so you're in luck? I dont know, il most likely forget about what I was going to put and end up rambling. At the moment I am currently in the college library "working" due to a lesson being cancelled, but became distracted with politics as per usual.

Recently I have quashed my thoughts of a previous blog where I claimed that UKIP could potentially be a racist party and conclude that they are not in fact a racist party at all. My thoughts came from the possible ban on the burqa being worn, however after more reading I discovered that this was only for public buildings and in essence should be held in the same regard as wearing a hoody in a bank or post office, you just cant do it anymore. I also discovered from research proof that a lot of the parties are actually quite scared of UKIP as in reality they are becoming an ever more potential threat to the big 3. They also pose a massive threat to the BNP as it is well known a lot of people have been switching parties from BNP to UKIP as our policies are more realistic and do not really rely on fascistic propaganda to gain votes.

As for the big 3, it is clear to see they also fear the "threat from the right" and personally a good reason for voting UKIP is because of the clear structure to politics they take. Take for example Labour and Conservatives. Do you know what the difference in policies are? No? Me neither. I'm sure they do have slight differences, but both slant each other off for anything, but never really propose to do anything different or better. Moving away from policies we can also see that the labour "democratic" leadership is nothing but a sham. As reported weeks ago (even months) Mr Brown and Mr Blair had already made an agreement that Brown would be the successor, which in turn makes him an unelected leader of the nation. But what a job he and Labour has done! What UKIP and I personally feel aggrieved about it his lack of referendums with the most important being on the Treaty of Lisbon where despite telling the UK population they would get a referendum which would essentially decide whether UK will remain in the EU, Mr Brown did not and we fell into the grip of EU tyrant hands once again. Mr Brown and Labour knew that the people of Britain would vote against participation in the EU. If this is democracy, then I feel very sorry for the men and women that fought two world wars for 'democracy'. To conclude on the issue of Mr Brown, he is a discrace who has led to the downfall of the nation. His economic policies are poor (selling gold before it tripled in price soon after), the lack of democracy he is giving the UK, his continuity in Europe and his bumbling oaf like speeches and failures that can only be laughed at to get through.

Wow, that was almost like giving a speech on behalf of UKIP. I think all this sun outside and the thoughts going through my head are causing me to mumble but the show must go on! I think this speech of mine, due to an email regarding Youth Politics, was also influenced by my 'follower's' own blog. To put it simply, it was a miniture rant about individualism, which I believe to be a great thing. There is nothing better than to be an individual especially at this age where conforming is the most common thing to do to fit into society. Individualism and freedom of saying what you think are two things I find admirable in a person. Thats not to say that everything you do has to be different, I mean I love watching football and curries! But what I mean is, my opinion and general attitude to life generally can offend people, but this is something you just have to accept. I dont like people who will just sit back and agree with what others do and say just because they dont want to speak their own mind. Maybe they dont have an opinion? As long as you have an opinion on an issue, you should voice it and dont be pressurised to be 'sheep' just because you fear the reprimands. If people dont like you for your views its fine, if people dont like your openess thats fine: you will only find true friends this way. In fact I know people who clearly just dont fit in with people (like me in the mornings) as they take very different views on life in general. Life to me is fun, its meant to be a laugh, your conversation should be on funny things, random stuff, politics, sport ect ect. Not on small talk and moaning and complaining about life. What is quite funny is people who always complain about college, what is there to complain about? Everyone chose to do the subjects they do and if you really hate it, just think. Would you rather be at work or at college with mates? People make too much of life, sometimes I do wonder whether legalising cannabis would be good for people. I mean, fuck getting 'worried' about an exam, just have a spliff and everything is sorted!

Wow I think thats the longest blog entry I have ever written, it took me almost 45 minutes but I feel you may understand my life and opinions better now, if it wasnt obvious already?

Tune in next time!

x

"The charisma of a damp towel"

Hoorah! A blog entry where I think I actually have a few interesting things to write that will keep the reader occupied until the very end!

I cant believe that I hadn't posted this earlier this week, but this video made me laugh so much.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bypLwI5AQvY

its both true, and very very funny! The EU president in my opinion gets completely owned by UKIP EU Leader and not only does he get insulted, both Greece and Belgium (a non country) get put down too. The comments of course have sparked a large amount of criticism and coincedently on this weeks question time Nigel Farage's comments came interlinked with the discussion on Gordon Browns bullying row. Obviously this is because the Labourist BBC somehow were trying to link in bullying to Farage's comments to discredit him for his bold speech that no doubt has won UKIP more support for the up and coming election. As well as the BBC linking this, they also selected a 'fair' representation which included at least 85% Labour supporters who obviously would oppose Nigel and UKIP's ideology as they are still held together by the wool over their eyes that says that the EU is a good thing. However; Nigel definetly defended his comments well. Ironically nothing focused on the fact that the speech actually had a point to it and it made sence, but for the fact that he was 'bullying' the president of the EU. But in all honesty, if you get feel bullied by one member of the EU then you are most likely not cut out for the job. Out of the whole speech, I thought the figure that the EU president (who again gained power undemocratically) earns more than President Obama. But like Farage said, who is this man? I have never heard of him. Why is a man who we have never heard of incharge of over 55 million people?

Moving away from politics, yesterday I worked at Twickenham for the England v Ireland match and had some interesting times. The first thing I would like to point out is that my fingers are very bruised from the lifting of everything to get it out of Twickenham hospitality. I also managed to get chilli (which by the way was great) down my arm which was not what I wanted at the end of the 14 hour shift. But whilst I was there I was hoping that I would find some Irish people who would just fit the stereotype perfectly and I have to admit I was not dissapointed. It was just brilliant going over to their table and clearing off tons of guiness pints and hearing them drink like there was no tomorrow. That made my day, if it wasn't for them I would have been let down by the irish.

Im going to go and watch the carling cup final second half, its 1-1 and a good game.

x

Financial Woes

Hello, before I write this blog I cant tell whether its going to be a good one, in fact im more bored so I thought I would update with whats going on.

I always like to start with the most interesting news in my life or something that has annoyed me. But again there is nothing of great value happening (oh no, not again). Well, today I have decided I am poor, and I am getting poorer and poorer every week as I don't have enough work and live a rich fulfilling lifestyle. It dawned on me yesterday that I have to save £300-400 ish for holiday and before that I have...

-Wembley (£100)
-Clarice's Birthday - (£££) <---- Thats a secret.
-Gorillaz (???) <----- Ok, I dont know about this one, but I hope.
-My Birthday (Whatever it costs to get fucked?)
-Join UKIP (£10)
-Future life

The last one I more mean on a scale that when I can drink it will be much easier to go pub'in with mates for a social gathering. All in all, that is a fuck load of money which I dont have. My thoughts are slowly turning to prostitution, but even that would be difficult to find customers. I did actually attempt to get a job in a book shop in the Marlands but seeing that the till does not automatically add up, and everything was like '70%' off, my brain couldnt cope with that amount of counting. But I would have been good at standing there looking helpful.

To carry on with this stark revelation I am having to sell personal belongings to fund my habit. Of these includes Modern Warfare 2 which is currently on Ebay, my old mobile phone and a Gorillaz book. I was going to sell my signed Gorillaz book but couldn't bring myself to it. How could you sell something signed by the illustrator (who is a genius) and the drummer of Gorillaz? Anyway im selling the other copy, its a long story, but I have two of the same book. But yeh, this is how desperate times are. But on the plus side, Nigel Farage on Question Time tonight, hope he puts a good message across.

x

x

Lost in the Woods

Hello everyone again. I feel this is the first time I can actually properly address other people as I have had one or more discussions about my blog with people. Whilst writing this blog I am listening to my ipod, which is allowing me to play songs, yet it is selecting what instruments to play in my headphones, its really odd.

This week see's the start of college again after an 'action packed' half term. Its tuesday, and im already shattered. How is this possible? I really don't want to be a college again, I am slowly losing attention to subjects. Actually History is the only subject now that I actually pay attention in and hope to learn, all other subjects seem somewhat lame or not real (also known as RS). It is also very wet today and as far as im aware its meant to be like this for the rest of the week making things doubly delighful as I know that I have to potentially walk home in the rain. That is why today I am staying in after college hours to do work, just so I can get a lift and obviously to catch up on work.

Despite the miserable weather, society has given back to me what I rightfully deserve, which is a B in my english coursework. Actually that's a lie. Well not the grade factor, but the fact I have no idea how I got a B in my coursework, I think its the only time ive handed in a significant peice of work without really caring or knowing that it was utter shite. However it clearly couldn't have been that bad. Maybe the invigilator has a thing for me? Mmm...

I didn't actually have anything interesting to update with, nothing I have noticed has pissed me off nor has something very interesting happened to me, so I have nothing to rant about, which makes this blog entry in essence rather lame. I am sorry for wasting your time.

x

p.s the campaign trial begins 19th March, the day of Nathans birthday. Lucky boy.

Dont bomb when your the bomb

Hello again, this is the first post where I have the most time to write something detailed and interesting, however I dont think I have anything to say really. Well I do, but the last posts I could have said a lot more. Oh well.

I dont think I mentioned it, well I might have, but I bought a real German Iron Cross from WW1 on friday, whilst it was sunny (but it snowed?). It cost me £40 but i'm glad to have it considering it took me a week to flog off the two other medals which were fakes (but gave me the money to buy this and a art print). Whilst in there I had a good ole' history chat with the guy who runs the shop. He sells a lot of weird yet equally cool things in his shop. The prices are also quite interesting, for example a SS armband costs around £270, thats alot of money for a swastika armband! By weird, he sells scopes from WW2 sniper rifles, I dont know how much these were, but they looked cool. When your in there you want to have a look at everything and pick everything up, but obviously you cant just do that.

Last night I also got to practice the idea of imperialism in a game of Risk with the family. I almost won, in fact I did a bit of a Hitler and started going 'No No No No' whilst hitting the table, a well known trait of the iconic man. I blame the dice rolling from my partner, not my superior tactics. Actually I was in essence quite unlucky, I should have won, but started fighting on two fronts which epically failed, and in the end I was pushed all the way back coincedently to western europe where all resistance was crushed.

I also forgot to mention that I went to a party on friday night, obviously my game of risk and trip to the medal man were more important and interesting? Well to be fair there is not that much to say. Actually I really don't have anything to say about the party, except that I am a involuntary non-conformist to themes and that seeing people drunk when your not drunk isn't as fun.

What else is there to put? Oh yes. How could I forget my recent undergoing in politics? It has now become my back-up career, infact it could be my first choice, but it could be quite hard to get into, expecially as UKIP are a smaller party then the main three. But what is the point in voting Labour, Conservatives or sit on the fence Lib Dems? They won't make any significant changes to the England which is whats needed at the moment. I do intend on joining UKIP so I can go to local meeting and have my say in whats going on. Actually I need to register myself as a voter on the electoral register, hmm. Theres something to do. Anyway I think thats all I have to say at the moment.

x

P.s my naming of each blog entry is slowly getting worse, it is either meant to be funny, topical or a song name.

DMUWE

Hello, you will be pleased to know that I do not ache as much now so this blog entry may be slightly more interesting and well written. I think that doing exercise whilst being sore and ache'y must make everything better, its one of those weird cures.

Yesterday I took the liberty of going up to De Montford University to have a look around the place and see what my life could potentially be like in September. Despite the 6hour round trip, and a cold wet day I was actually impressed with the area and the course. Its a very tight nit community which is a bit different compared to that of UWE. However I can't decide whether I enjoyed the place, it has good and bad points. The bad being that you step outside of the interlectual hub and outside you come into an absolute shithole. Honest to god, its like being in St Marys but 24/7, so that factor was a bit poor. The trip made me also realise that I missed quite a lot from UWE so I am going to have to make another trip up there, fail. I never actually looked at the bars, the main campus or the library. Basically where i'm going to be the whole time. Just another random negative to DMU is that the place where history was taught, did not smell like history nor was it in a old building. At UWE the building smelt and you could tell its where some people have hidden amongst the archives and hibernated.

On my trip I also had the stark realisation that 'history people' are really different people. By this I mean you could tell if someone wanted to do history at degree level. Some people were wearing shirts, brown jeans and shoes. I hope I don't look like one of these people.

In other random news, I have sold two medals that were fake, and I think I sold them as the real thing. Yet on a technicality I never stated they were real. However I can't help but feel bad because they left feedback saying 'I will cherish this item', but then again if they think its real its all the matters. With the money I am going to buy a real medal, from a shop!

Clarice is here. She wants to watch a film.

x

100,000 Thoughts

I hate the way of starting a new blog entry, I never know how to start or how to address the people who read this. I will start with a simple hello.

This week is half term and like most february half terms I am inside because it is too cold and miserable to actually go and do anything. Plus I am very poor. I suppose that is the main reason. But I do actually have some things planned, I am going to De Montford University tomorrow to have a look around. Although I do want to go, its such a long way for only 2-3 hours of looking around. Yet on the plus side I do potentially get to talk about history/politics so it can't be all bad.

Last sunday I also began to work out and start a six month task of doing this every week, who knows I might be muscle man after. However whilst writing this I am in severe achey (I know thats not a real word I think?) pain. I dont think I have ever ached so much in my life, it is full body ache (maybe not the legs) but it still hurts, alot. I think I have another one on wednesday, so I am anticipating not being able to move for a few months.

I really could go into detail about these things as I have alot to say, but my arms are actually hurting to type this and this keyboard is pretty shit. However I will leave you with this picture I have bought. Maybe the next post will be more interesting? I should leave a post on a cliffhanger one day. Hmm.

x

When does the relegation party start?

Hello, as you can imagine this blog entry is going to be focused prodominantly on the Saints match, however I can assure you there will be an element of politics entered into this - dont worry!

But firstly I would like to say that I think I have three people who now 'follow' my blog, these people are very valued as they are they only thing that make me look less insane because otherwise I would be writing to myself, so thanks.

Anyway, today was of course the clash of the season for both Saints and he who shall not be named. Despite a dissapointing score which allowed Saints to look like they got trampled on, it was a entertaining game, mostly for the pre and after game experience. The hostility that Southampton fans created for the opposing fans just before the match (by blocking them in, swearing and abusing coaches and chanting) was enough to make it a funny start. I have never been to a derby match so it was very good to get tickets (thanks kath). After the match it was 'marred' by attempted fights between the fans, which basically involved stones being thrown, chairs being thrown and cars being torn apart to create some sort of weapon. Most of the aggression was held back by 'stable' fencing and prodominantly the police with horses and batons, a bad combonation. Anyway i'm not too sure what happened afterwards, undoubtebly there must have been fights somewhere in Southampton but I did hear from Facebook that a Saints fan had been stabbed by another Saints fan.

I have no idea how that happened.

x

I forgot to include any political ideology. I was going to blame Labour for Saints downfall but that would be a little bit unjust.

EU - NO

Hello again. Once again this will be a complaining blog - I am so sorry.

In the news this week it was publicised that Greece has debts of around 80 billion euros, and guess who has to bail them out, all the other countries in the EU. I don't understand why the British taxpayer's money should be going to help out another failed country. In essence, the only reason the EU are saving Greece from total anarchy is so the value of the Euro does not become worthless and countries don't have a repeat of Weimar Germany. But Britain doesn't use the euro, basically for this reason.

So why does Gordon Brown have to send British money to help out another country? It is not to go without saying that Britain is still not in a stable financial state yet we still feel obliged to spend our money helping the Greek accountants who couldn't even wipe their own arse let alone run the country financially. In fact Greece are making Alistair Darling look like a hero for not letting Britain topple under. Britain is currently held in an Iron Fist that is controlling us and this treacherous act by Mr Brown will only hamper our financial wounds. The problem with the EU is unmissable, is it right that we as Britain pump around £40 million pound into the EU every single day? Surely British money should be going to British people, or at least trying to improve the schools and NHS which at the moment are lacking quality. In the outlook of things, the main reason for our primeminister opting to help Greece is not to 'help' but to support France and Germany, who lets face it, are becoming economically stronger. Mr Brown is just doing this deed to keep on side with powerful european countries and show 'support' as they both use the euro and in some way are allies to us.

In other news I have also written an constructive letter to the headquarters of Bluestar buses who have once again raised prices for such a short journey, however I do not actually have time to post this. All I will say is, socialism has failed us once again.

x

Wembley Wembley!

Thats where were going, 28th March 2010 after thrashing MK Dons 4-1 on aggregate in the Johnstones Paint Trophy. It was actually quite an impressive game of football to watch at St Mary's, the first time I had actually felt a very good atmosphere since the Championship relagation game against Sheffield United. The quality of football from Southampton was admirable in my opinion, considering that MK Dons are no pushover side, and the man himself Papa Waigo had a brilliant game playing as a forward. He's one of those players you think 'oh shit' when he gets the ball, but fair play to him he seems to have found his feet and is getting the goals and assists that Southampton need to progress. In contrary to this, I played a game of Fifa 10 last night and coincedently the other player played as Portsmouth and thus I felt obliged to play as Southampton (city pride an' all). I won 1-0 with Lallana scoring my one goal, this is what my money is going on this Saturday when we play the skates for real. Fifa 10 wouldn't lie to me.

In other 'interesting' news I went up to the capital of this socialist country to watch and 'take notes' on historians talking about Russia and its revolutions in particular. All very good in retrospect, but the dullness of two of the historians eventually leads you to finding your mates doodling extremely interesting, funny that. But what mostly aggravated my was the historians who didn't opinionate and just stated facts rather than opinion. I don't like this, every historian has a take on what happened in every era of history. There is a lot of interpretation to this subject, but one man Figes was very interesting. A very powerful speaker who addressed us like he was standing at the Reichstag and made very bold statements and criticised other historical analysis, shame it was at the end when everyone was tired from previous boring historians, which really would put some people off taking history, but not me.

Anyway I have two minutes to lesson and have to leave, I don't think I had anything else to say. I will most likely report back on Saturday...

Come on you Saints!

x

The real mocking bird

This week has been an interesting one for me, I have learnt two things about myself.

1. I actually really like country music

2. I have declared myself a voter for UKIP

However I can't help but feel I am potentially voting for a 'racist' party. But then you can't really agree with every policy of a party can you? In fact I only questioned their views when I saw a Facebook group potentially suggesting that the BNP and UKIP should unite and conclude that they do indeed have very similar views.

But the difference is the BNP are very anti-religion, white supremicists and violent. Where as UKIP's only really racist belief is that the veil should be banned in public places; or places of importance should I say. Yet I do not agree with this, despite around 65% of people agreeing with this. Nor do I agree with extreme ideas to stop building mosques or other places of prayer. However I do think the idea of 'political correctness' seriously needs to be addressed. In my opinion I believe we must be one of the only countries that put foreigners in priority over the national citizen. I'm not saying that we should have more rights or be seen as superior. But the whole idea of doing things 'so not to offend other religions' is barmy.

Take for example Scarborough, where a college removed its christmas decorations so 'not to offend non christians'. Now this says to me that we are discouraging our own countries religion, but I dont understand how it would offend other religions? If I went to another country and they celebrated their religion I would not be offended, but embrace myself in their religion, even if I did not believe in their religion.

In this day and age a right wing party is what's needed to sort out this sham of a country. A party that will take harsh, but fair measurements to make sure Britain doesn't weaken and crumble as it is under the Labour party at the present time.

x

People of the earth, bow down.

Having noticed that the last two posts have been rather pessimistic, I am going to write a much nicer blog entry without any reference to politics or economy... Yet I can't help but feel so inadaquate when I look at my very small red... ipod nano. Ipod touches are where its at! They are a group who take very left wing and relate themselves heavily to communism. The amount of propaganda put up around college is enough for anyone to be interested, expecially as they are offering 'free cake' to those who come (although this just a 'left wing joke').

The hard thing to come to terms with is how the college actually allow this group to be formed, and put up posters around college. For some reason displaying the communist symbol is deemed 'ok' by the college despite the reknown facts that communist countries are responsible for the most deaths seen in recent history (Russia, China ect). Yet if there was a right wing group, lets take an example they used the swastika as a symbol, the posters would be immediately taken down and the pupils branded 'racist' and most likely suspended.

I'm not saying that either Communism or Fascism is right, as we all know both types of politics result in millions of deaths. It's just the principle that they can promote communist ideology very freely without any sort of repremand. To take action to this, and to give myself something to do, a few posters were put up next to these adverts to show communism in its true colours. However the majority of these posters were taken down, presumerably by Red Club members or teachers. Yet there was no ideology in the posters, no right wing ideas, just simple facts that many people may not understand about communism.

The club starts tomorrow and hopefully our powerful message may have deterred some potential members.

A Revelation

I think I am now in a revelation about the people I hate the most in this modern day society, and that is people who are too uptight. I really don't understand it. What I find most confusing is that these are supposed to be the 'best days' as were all young, yet some people clearly do not understand the meaning of this and choose to live boring lives. An example; using a computer to check emails in a place you shouldn't use it (ie student committee area) and then having it snached out of your hand?

What exactly was I going to do? Start a revolution? No no, you only do that with 'unlimited texts'. C'mon who would really give a shit whether I did use the pc, it's not as if they are gestapo choosing when or if I can use it. The thought that the 'have power' is really amusing. Some people really do need to just live a little, stop going to bed a 8pm and stop fucking there mothers.

Individualism for the win. Oh, I just realised the title of this is a chapter from 'Mein Kampf', woops.

MK Don-alds

MK Dons 0 - 1 Southampton FC

This was the result that will carry through to the replay leg of the Johnstones Paint Trophy that Saints now have a great chance of winning.

After a interesting banterful trip up to the Stadium:mk (which in my opinion is a very good name) the anticipation among the saints fans was compelling. It's always is a good feeling when you know the away side has more fans and support than the home team, one of which I can't really comprehend. I couldn't really imagine being at St Mary's knowing that the away team were louder, better and generally better. But then again all of the real 'Dons' fans went to AFC Wimbledon which is fair, and very bold of them.
This is a picture of the stadium roaring with support, apparently this picture was of the best crowd of the season.

I also forgot to say, I have developed an interest in saying very random German sayings, my favourite at the moment being 'Your mother is very good' - 'Deine mutter is sehr gude' and the word 'Hippo' being 'Nilpferd'. Once again the left wing has failed us in gritting the roads, despite prior warning to heavy snowstorms. However, its another bank holiday, children are out playing, old people are huddling by a log fire, and the middle age group are sitting down drinking tea.

Just realised I havn't posted for a while. Wow that almost sounds like someone actually cares and that I write a blog all the time, even though this is my 3rd post? I somehow managed to miss writing about christmas or new year, no matter you know how the thing is; happy and sober christmas day, happy and drunk new years. I havn't got any new years resolutions this year. I don't really understand them, no-one keeps them anyway, its like a 'Yeh lets lose weight and stop smoking', and then two days after the novelty wares off you end up lighting a cigarette and munching on your own shit.

I would attach a picture; but its snowing, im lazy, and it would only be of something obscene or a drunken photo.

Peace x

Bit of a Blur...

Ive just worked out doing coursework and listening to the new streets album creates coursework with a certain beat to it. I only realised today that the Streets actually have a new album coming out next year (its called Computer and Blues). I must have had a blur of the last year, if I have only just realised a new album is coming out, what other stuff have I missed out on?

And as for gigs; I havn't seen the only band worth seeing, that is Pete & The Pirates, for a good few months. Just when you think you can see them, you find out the venue is an 18+ and therefore I may not enter, even if I have no intention to drink. Ok I do have an intention, but they wouldn't serve me anyway. There should be no restricition to age at gigs, unless your going to a cellar club where buying cocaine is your only way in, then yes I would agree. If I want to drink, I will bring ID. If I can't drink, I will buy coke. - a cola. Give it a few months when I am 18 and a new post will be written saying how I think it is a very good idea.

Ive just realised that writting a blog is a bit like a diary.
